After being part of the French resistance during World War II, Obrey decided to open the house Obrey, rue Tronchet, in Paris in 1951. He decided to create new collections of watches and jewels combining quality and aesthetics. Bringing numerous talented designers, the company Obrey launches a collection of solid silver watches in 1966. The company became very successful during the 1960s-1970s.
